1.Food additive
It is an important meat flavor with the aroma of roast meat and coffee, and is widely used in food and beverage flavor(e.g. meat, fish and shellfish,nuts)
2.Organic synthesis
It can be used to synthesize other compounds,such as: bis (2-methyl-3-furanyl) disulfide,which also exhibits strong meaty and roasted aromas.
It is used in the synthesis of flavorings for food additives,and spice intermediates.
